Alexander stepped out of the elevator, fixing his shirt as he stepped out into the moonlight. LA was breathtakingly beautiful at this time of night. A sight you would see in a post card in Alex's opinion. Alex stepped further out onto the roof. Looking around he took in his surroundings. There was the obvious air vents and giant air conditioning systems scattered around.
Deciding to stop observing the local architecture Alex looked forward and went over to the edge of the rooftop. Alex was in a fairly good mood, his latest directing job with an aspiring band had gone better then expected. Things going better then expected put Alex in a good mood. The band was a classical rock band, something you don't see everyday. The bands name was The Old Timers. Even though the band members were only in their early twenties.
Alex also managed to avoid all the other celebrities and band starts that were looking to pluck up directors for music videos. They weren't looking for him in particular, they were just looking for good directors to direct something for them. Alex shrugged it off, if they didn't get one if was no skin off his teeth. He stopped his train of thought to view LA in all it's glory, he seemed to be intent in the view rather then his surroundings.

Grabbing a jacket, Layla opened the door to her apartment and snuck out quietly. Why she had to sneak out of her own apartment when she was the ONLY person living in it, she had no idea. Well she was use to sneaking out of her room back in Kansas to go hang out with her friends late at night. Pulling her jacket on and pulling the hood up, Layla was now in ninja mode.
There was one good thing about living on the fourth floor, she only had to climb one flight of stairs if she ever wanted to go sit on the rooftop. Which of coursed she loved to do occasionally. Opening the door to the stairs, she ran as fast and as quietly as she could. She didn't want to be caught by the mean Hotel Manager, she was pretty sure that he didn't like her. At all.
Walking out of the stairwell, Layla closed the door behind her slowly and quietly. She didn't want the door to make a loud noise and then for her to get busted. Then everything would have been ruined. Tucking some strands of pure jet black hair behind her ear, Layla looked and took in all of the sights. Well there wasn't much to see really, mostly stuff for the air conditioning for the building. Removing her hood, Layla paused as there was another human being on the rooftop.
"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't think anybody was going to be here."

Alex jumped at the sound of another voice on the rooftop, not expecting anyone to be up here at this time. His visible jump was just a small shake in his figure, managing to contain the instinct to jump more sporadically near the edge of a multistory complex. He turned around and saw a woman standing near the entrance to the roof.
"Oh, it's okay no harm done." He walked over to get a closer look on the new arrival, moving from the edge of the building closer to the entrance. The small light that was on gave him a shadowy look when he finally stopped moving. "They call me Alex, I hope you don't mind me asking what your name might be and why your sneaking around like a ninja instead of just walking up here?"

Listening to the boy's words, Layla gave him a grin as she dug her hands into her pockets. Walking over to him, she merely gave him a slightly confused look. "Did you never go around pretending to play ninja? I mean if you practice enough you can become pretty good at it." she told him.
Fixing her hair some, Layla look over at him. "Well Alex, my name is Layla, Layla Stelling." she introduced herself. "And I was playing ninja because back home I was use to sneaking out past my bed time. And besides, ninjas are cool!" she explained to him. If she could actually master anything in the martial arts, she would so become a ninja!
"So getting off topic of ninjas and being out late. What brings you here? I honestly figured that I was the only person out at night." she told him.

Alex grinned, "I guess you can say I play ninja, I definitely move like they do but not how you would think," He left it at that deciding to be all mysterious like with that. "Well I'm out here viewing LA, it's a glorious site this time of night." He motioned over his shoulder, you could see some of the view from here considering how large LA was. It was definitely bigger then Boston that's for sure.
"It's a grand site but that aside, what brings you to the palm woods? Every one here has a talent that brings them here and I can assume you are no different." Alex spoke in a questioning tone, everyone had a reason for being here and that was something Alex wanted to know every time he met someone new.

Tucking some loose strands o black hair behind her ear, Layla looked at what Alex was talking about. The whole sight was just something she couldn't process into words. It was defiantly a more beautiful sight than Kansas was. "It is really pretty" she said absent-minded.
Upon hearing his question of how she got to the Palm Woods, Layla smiled. "I'm here to be a singer." she simply told him. "I wasn't discovered by anybody yet, I merely asked my parents if I could move out and try to become a signer. Oddly enough they said yes and well, here I am." she explained.
"Enough about me though, why are you here at the Palm Woods? You're not trying to become a famous singer either? Are you? Cause I don't want to have competition." she told him. Even though she just met him, Layla already liked him.

"Me? A singer? Flattering but no, I'm a director you see, you might have seen the latest Cuda commercial? I directed that." It indeed was, Cuda had hired him to direct a few of their commercials and Alex wasn't complaining, something on his resume would do wonders later on.
"Oh I'm sure you won't have any trouble with competition, I can tell you must have a great singing voice." He had yet to direct a music video, he was sure that was something around the corner. "If you need a director you can look me up, I'm sure I can work with who ever you are signed with or going to sign with."
((Same, sorry it's short.)

"Oh you did that? That was a pretty cool commercial." Layla had probably seen the commercial a good few times, it mad her laugh. She had always thought directing was extremely complicated. Whenever she had a video project for school she was never the director, she didn't want to yell at her friends and tell them what they were doing wrong.
Layla smiled at his offer, she had basically been in LA for like a few days and somebody had already offered to direct a music video for her. "Thanks" she said with a small nod. To her the fact that she got a music video offer before a record deal was kind of funny.
"Now all I have to do is get a recording contract and all should be good!" she said happily. Layla didn't want to get her hopes up, chances were if she did then she would fall back down. And hard.
"So Alex what apartment do you live in? I live in 2S." she said, hoping she had a neighbor.
