The day was bright and sunny, like every day in L.A. Layla wasn't a big fan of bright sunny days, the sun always blinded her. Which was why she brought sun glasses with her everywhere she went, they came in handy. Once she actually stepped inside Rocque Records, did she remove her sunglasses.
Making her way up to the second floor, Layla looked at the wall of the building. They were all covered with huge posters of boy bands from the 90s. And they looked weird, gross and creepy in her eye's. Now why was a girl, who obviously didn't have a taste in boy bands, at the studio of Gustavo Rocque (the master of pop and boy bands)? She was here because of this one girl she had met at the Palm Woods, saying how she was recording there. After having a small chit chat with him about how girl rock stars bring him lots of money, he decided to let her record a few demos. If it didn't work out with him, Layla would just move onto another music producer.
Her first song she decided to do would be a cover actually. Honestly she liked covers more than originals. Writing lyrics was hard for her.
"I've been traveling for so long So lost till I stumbled upon Two roads in front of me I had to take my time"

*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3* Strolling around the halls of Rocque Records like she did every other time she was on break, Alyson was more a less just scouting out who was here today and who wasn't. It was always up in the air who had to record what days so there was always the chance that she would find a familiar or even friendly face. Okay Gustavo really...this place could use some redecorating...like bad... It was about the time that she got to thinking that thought that she came up on a poster of Big Time Rush. Okay so that one can stay. Smiling dreamily at the part of the picture with James on it, Aly could remeber a time not too long ago that she lived for the very thought of that boy, but when he didn't seem interested she was inclined to ditch the idea of he and she being together. Still she couldn't help but wonder all the same what it could have been like.
Rounding a corner Aly was suddenly faced with a new set of thoughts. She had found the familiar face of the day, it was a girl she had spent a small amount of time talking too not that long ago about music and where she could get her career going. It was hard to mistake her goth appearance since around LA that look was few and far between. “Hey you're Layla right? I think we met before, I'm Aly." Not being the shy type Alyson just walked right up to her smiling like they were old friends hoping to receive a kind greeting in return, not that she expected one.

Even though she wasn't acutally recording in the studio at that moment, Layla couldn't wait a moment longer. Her dreams were slowly coming true. But alas all good dreams must come to an end, and by that somebody had shattered the dream world she was in. How dare somebody do that to her!
Hearing somebody speak to her, Layla turned to the direction of the person. It was the girl who had told her about the place she was currently in. "Oh right. At the lobby of the Palm Woods." Layla said to her with a small nod of the head. On one hand, she had to be thankful to this girl. Because of her, Layla was possibly a step closer to becoming a rock star. But on the other hand, she was a little well awkward and angry.
Running her fingers through her ebony hair, Layla looked over at the girl named Aly. "Let me ask you a question.." her voice trailed off a little. Picking up her necklace that had a pair of scissors on it, she began to play with it in her fingers. "Do you always act like a ball of sunshine to everybody you meet?" she asked her. "Because if so, it's annoying. We already have a real sun."

*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3* Everything seemed great at first when it seemed like Layla actually remembered but the the verbal assault that followed had Aly taking a step back as if being just a little further would make everything okay again. It was hard to formulate a response to the very frank analysis that Layla had just thrown in her face. She thinks I'm annoying....I don't know if I've ever been told that before so flatly. Sure she and her friends would pal around about it but this girl seemed to be all but playing. “Umm well as a matter of fact, yes I am always this happy...I mean it seems to make others happy usually so....yes we have a sun, good observation." It was like first grade again, Aly V.S. school yard bully. “Do you mind me asking, are you always this sour during the day?" Usually Aly wasn't the type to get in the face of confrontation but if things got too rough what was the worst that could happen? They were in the studio and if Aly needed to run and hide there were endless possibilities. “I don't mean to sound rude but...wow you come off really hard core you know that?"

Layla rolled her eyes. Oh she could not believe what she was hearing. To be hearing it so early in the morning. Rubbing her temples, Layla looked at the girl in front of her. "Well maybe the people are lying to you. Isn't L.A. know for having tons of fake people?" she asked her. She already knew that the answer was yes. But it was one of those questions that would get under your skin and bug you for the rest of the day. And when somebody would think of a comeback, they'd be miles away from her.
In some people's eyes, Layla was mean. A bully. A goth even. But in her eyes, she was blunt. If she didn't care for you, you would know it. Plus with having three older brothers, you had to learn how to stand up for yourself. Was there a time when she was weak and much like Aly? Yeah, when Layla was in elementary school and didn't have blue streaks in her hair.
"Hard core?" Layla questioned. " 'Hard core' is for people who act as if they are tough. When they seeking attention, trying to be who they are not." she explained. She hated being called that. It was demeaning to her. Brushing her hair off of her shoulder, Layla looked back over at Aly. "Anyways why are you here?"

*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3* She had never really stopped to think about that, maybe her friends only put up with her because they didn't want to hurt her feelings. She didn't think she came off as the sensitive type, but the way she was breaking down under pressure, maybe she was a lot on the soft side. That would be reason enough for her friends to keep under wraps, the fact that Alyson was actually very annoying to them. Before she could even come up with something to say like, her friends weren't those kind of people, Layla was on to round two. Thankfully round two was just her clarifying that “Hard Core" was not a term she liked to be associated with, a mental note she would keep close. “Well I mean not that it's any of your business at this point.....but I'm here to do some recording with Gustavo." She wanted to sound meaner, get back in Layla's face even, but instead she just stuck with the soft spoken and slightly frank sounding tone. “I'm on break now and was hoping to find someone to talk to for a while, but I guess I should have been a little more specific on the conversation choice."

Crossing her arms across her chest, Layla raised an eyebrow at Aly. Either she was imagining this, or somebody was actually trying to stand up to her. 'This should be interesting' Layla merely thought to herself.
Twirling some black and blue hair in her fingers, she looked around the room before looking over back at Aly. "Wait a moment." she said, holding a hand up. "You're signed onto Gustavo? You actually work for him? Then how come you don't have a poster like the other stupid boy-bands?" she questioned her. Boy bands was something she really didn't like. Yes Gustavo was known for that, maybe she could change everything. Twould be fun to find out.
Biting her bottom lip, the urge to ask the next question was so great, Layla had to. Who cares if it seemed rude. It had to be proven, then and there. Once and for all. "So you can actually sing?" she asked, implying that lip-synced rather than actually singing a verse or two.

*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3*<3* Once again Layla was calling the shots it looked like and Aly was left to just go along for the ride. She could see how it would be hard to believe that she worked here since there was no big poster indicating it, but that was something she had been meaning to ask about. As long as she had been here, Alyson thought some recognition was due. If for no other reason then to prove to people like Layla that yes the great Gustavo Rocque was her boss. “Well he's very proud of his boy bands...even his dusty old 90‘s groups." The only real group that she could see tearing up the charts now was BTR. “And as a matter of fact yes I can sing! I'm not an auto tune wash out..." Wanting to prove her point Aly was about to sing a line from one of her newer songs, but did Layla really care? Or was she just going to rip into her again for having no talent after she got her piece out. Instead of showing her, Aly just crossed her arms hoping her denial would be enough to suffice for now.

Grin. That was all Layla could do. Yes she found it fun that she was making this girl angry very easily. Back home she would have to call a girl a skank or something to get her so angry. But all she had to do here was insult their talent and then BOOM! They get all defensive and cry about it.
Watching Aly mimic her own movement, Layla shook her head. "Crossing your arms isn't going to prove that you can sing Little Girl." she said to her. Little girl was a typical nickname she used anybody really.
Upon hearing the term 'auto tune wash out', Layla narrowed her eyes at Aly. She didn't know if that little comment was directed at her or not. Besides, she didn't even have a demo yet. So it wasn't like Aly could judge just yet. Uncrossing her arms, Layla pointed over to a recording booth. "I'm waiting." she said with a smile on her face. As the term goes 'smile, it will confuse everybody'. She had hoped just exactly that would happen, that her smile would confuse her. And then when Aly did sing, she would give her honest opinion.
